| spa |
| dc.description.abstract | Échele Cabeza was established in 2013 as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with a harm reduction approach, aiming to address the potential risks associated with the widespread and recurrent recreational use of psychoactive substances (PSA) in leisure and nightlife contexts. These substances include, among others, ecstasy, LSD, MDMA, 2CB, Ketamine, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, DMT, and their respective adulterants. This document aims to provide initial evidence using a mixed methodology to evaluate the impact of the work of such an organization, focused on improving self-care practices and reducing the negative effects associated with SPA consumption on the intervened users. The results demonstrate a significant increase in self-care practices among users of Échele Cabeza services compared to non-users, as well as a significant increase in negative effects during and after SPA consumption among the population not intervened by the organization. Finally, some recommendations are highlighted, such as expanding the capacity of services, particularly the Substance Analysis Service (SAS), to improve response times, updating the website with psychoactive alerts information, and conducting research on various topics regarding substance use. | eng |
