Publicación: Who benefits? Shining a Light on the Business of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
Resumen en inglés
Child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) is a pervasive global crisis that demands recognition as a public health emergency. To advance understanding and prevention, Childlight developed the Searchlight series—biennial studies that examine different dimensions of CSEA, building on the Into the Light global index of prevalence and magnitude. Since its launch in 2023, this research has revealed significant knowledge gaps, particularly concerning the financial drivers of abuse. The 2025 edition addresses these gaps by exposing how perpetrators and organisations profit from child exploitation, thereby uncovering hidden networks and dynamics that sustain the problem. By asking the central question, Who benefits from CSEA?, this report presents eight new studies focused on profitability, hidden at-risk populations, and accountability, aiming to strengthen interventions and support justice for victims.
