Publicación Acceso abierto Ambiente en el aula, ambiente de aprendizaje y desempeño educativo en Bogotá(Universidad de los Andes, 2017) Peña Niño, Omar Dario; Pombo Vejarano, Carlos; 79307949"In the school effectiveness discussion, this article highlights the importance of classroom environment (quality of student?s relationships) and learning environment (quality of relationships between teachers and students) as key factors that determinate educational performance in standardized tests. This paper explores the relationships between both components of school environment and educational attainment in primary and secondary schools in Bogotá with a focus on language and mathematics. Using multiple regressions throughout Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method of estimation, this article obtains two robust models, one for primary schools, and the other one for secondary schools which allow to identify the impact of both school environmentïs components on educational achievement. We found that in primary schools there wasnït a significant relationship between classroom environment and educational achievement. Nonetheless, we found that learning environment has an effect on language results. A ten per cent increase in that factor is associated with a 4.5% increase in language-standardized test." This document attempts to find evidence of groupthink in the relation between variables of composition and features of board of directors of american companies, and their respective financial performance during 2015, as a measure of fulfillment of strategic functions. Analyses show results supporting groupthink given a negative impact of experience diversity and average tenure of board members on financial performance (ROA). The results, first, allow to interpret an adverse effect of experience diversity on performance, in a scenario where no agreements are reached, and there is a false consensus typical of groupthink, leading to unfavorable results; second, results support group cohesion as an antecedent of groupthink, based on a high tenure of board members as an element that impacts performance negatively." This study explores the role of Perceived Consumer Effectiveness in recycling behavior. Specifically, it states that there is a mediation relationship. Thus, PCE, which is the individual?s perception of the importance and utility of their actions to solve problems, has an influencer role through other pro-environmental behavior (the use of reusable bags) in recycling practice. This research contributes to the discussion about pro-environmental behaviors, particularly on recycling, in three ways: First, it proposes the analysis of an attitudinal variable like PCE that has had predictive power on pro-environmental behaviors, but it have not been analyzed in direct relation to recycling. Second, because few researches have proposed mediation models to analyze recycling, this work addresses one model to evaluate the interaction between explanatory variables. Finally, this study is proposing behaviors as mediators; this is a new path to understand the adoption of recycling and how overcome the gap between attitudes and behaviors, which has been a key question in the fields of marketing and sustainability." -- Tomado del resumen.
