    Extension of the transit opportunity index for indirect trips estimation

    Quantifying public transport performance, including travel time, routes, transfers, frequency, and vehicle capacity is crucial to crucial to enable better decision-making and appropriate allocation of re-sources in public transport services. The Transit Opportunity Index (TOI) considers these dimensions and their relationships. Nevertheless, correctly incorporating trips with transfers has been particularly challenging, especially for complex systems in which these indirect trips are very common. In this study, we propose an al-ternative method to estimate the contribution of these trips, using elements from the TOI framework itself.
